Reading insight cards
Understand what each insight card tells you - scores, trends, dimensions, themes, and recommended actions.
Insight cards are the building blocks of Genuics' automated analysis. Each card summarizes a specific finding from your data. Here's how to read them.
Anatomy of an insight card
Every insight card has these elements:
- Title - a short summary of the finding (e.g., "NPS dropped 12 points in the Southwest region")
- Priority badge - color-coded: green (low), yellow (medium), orange (high), red (urgent)
- Type indicator - friction, positive, variance, driver, or theme
- Description - a longer explanation of what was found and why it matters
- Evidence summary - the data behind the insight: dataset, row count, metric values
Card types explained
Scorecard metrics
These show your key performance indicators with trend arrows. For example, an NPS scorecard might show your current score, the change from last period (e.g., +5 WoW), and a breakdown by dimension.
Friction cards
Friction cards highlight problems. They surface segments with below-average performance, negative sentiment trends, or declining metrics. For example: "Support satisfaction dropped 18% in the Mobile app channel."
Positive cards
The good news. Positive cards highlight strengths, improving trends, and high-performing segments. For example: "Enterprise NPS increased to 72, up from 64 last quarter."
Variance cards
These flag unexpected changes - metrics that moved more than expected. They help you catch anomalies early. For example: "Response volume spiked 340% on March 15th."
Driver cards
Driver cards explain why something changed. They identify which dimensions or factors contributed most to a metric movement. For example: "The NPS decline is primarily driven by the 'Billing Experience' theme, which accounts for 62% of detractor comments."
Theme cards
Theme cards group free-text responses into clusters. They show which topics your respondents mention most, along with sentiment (positive or negative). For example: "The top theme is 'Wait Times' (mentioned in 23% of responses), with 85% negative sentiment."
Acting on a card
When you see an insight worth pursuing:
- Click the insight card to expand its full details.
- Review the evidence - the specific data points, segments, and metrics involved.
- Click Create Action to turn the insight into a trackable follow-up task. The action is pre-filled with the insight's context.
You can also dismiss an insight if it's not relevant to your current priorities. Dismissed insights won't reappear.
