Add-ons and usage

Track your usage against plan limits and purchase add-ons for extra rows, AI messages, seats, or datasets.

Every Genuics plan has limits on users, datasets, rows, and AI messages. The Usage tab shows you exactly where you stand, and add-ons let you increase specific limits without upgrading to the next plan.

Checking your usage

  1. Go to Setup > Organization in the sidebar.
  2. Click the Usage tab.

You'll see progress bars for each tracked resource:

ResourceWhat it tracks
UsersActive user accounts vs. your plan's seat limit
DatasetsTotal datasets in your organization
RowsTotal rows across all datasets vs. your plan's row limit
AI messagesAI messages used this month vs. your monthly allocation

Each progress bar shows the current count, the limit, and a percentage. When a resource is above 80%, the bar turns yellow as a warning. At 100%, it turns red and the corresponding feature is paused.

Usage timeline

Below the progress bars, you'll find a usage timeline that shows daily consumption over the current billing cycle. This helps you spot trends:

  • A steady increase in rows might mean you need to plan for a limit increase
  • A spike in AI messages could indicate heavy Geni usage from your team
  • Flat user counts confirm you have the right seat allocation

Available add-ons

If you need a little more capacity without upgrading to the next plan, purchase an add-on. Add-ons are billed monthly alongside your subscription.

Add-onWhat you getPrice
Extra Rows+50,000 rows$15/month
Extra AI Messages+500 AI messages$10/month
Extra Seats+1 user seat$8/month
Extra Datasets+5 datasets$10/month

You can purchase multiple units of the same add-on. For example, two "Extra Rows" add-ons give you +100,000 rows.

Purchasing an add-on

  1. Go to Setup > Organization > Plans & Billing.
  2. Scroll to the Add-ons section.
  3. Find the add-on you need and click Add.
  4. Choose the quantity (e.g., 1 unit of Extra Rows, or 3 units of Extra Seats).
  5. Confirm the purchase. The add-on is billed immediately (prorated for the remainder of your billing cycle) and renews monthly.

Removing an add-on

If you no longer need the extra capacity - maybe you upgraded to a plan that already covers it - you can remove an add-on.

  1. Go to Setup > Organization > Plans & Billing.
  2. In the Add-ons section, find the add-on you want to remove.
  3. Click Remove.
  4. Confirm the removal. The add-on stays active until the end of your current billing cycle, then stops renewing.

When to use add-ons vs. upgrade

Add-ons make sense when you need a small bump in one specific area:

  • Your team has 6 people but the Starter plan allows 5 - add 1 extra seat for $8/month instead of upgrading to Pro at $299/month
  • You're at 45,000 rows and expect to reach 50,000 soon, but don't need Pro's other features - add an Extra Rows pack

Upgrading makes more sense when you're outgrowing multiple limits at once, or you need features like audit logs, SSO, or significantly higher quotas.

What happens when you hit a limit

When a resource reaches its limit:

  • Rows: you can't upload new data or add rows via connectors. Existing dashboards, reports, and AI features continue working with the data you have.
  • Users: you can't invite new users. Deactivate an inactive account or purchase an extra seat.
  • AI messages: Geni chat and AI insight generation pause until the next month or until you purchase an add-on. All other features remain available.
  • Datasets: you can't create new datasets. Delete an unused one or add an Extra Datasets pack.

Genuics never deletes your data or charges overage fees. You simply can't add more until you increase the limit.
